If Google Chrome browser is showing the status 'Waiting for Proxy Tunnel' and taking excess time when loading web pages, check your proxy server settings. Select the Connections I keep getting "waiting for proxy tunnel" - Google Chrome I keep getting "waiting for proxy tunnel" when selecting many web sites. When I go to LAN settings and un-check Automatically Check Setting and the Proxy Server check box is un-ticked Chrome works as it should. However when I quit Chrome and restart it the Auto Check Setting is reticked and Chrome does not connect to these sites.
